From your hotel, we continue our journey to Nuwara eliya. First of all, after arriving at nuwara eliya, we first go to Hakgala botanical garden to explore the flora and fauna there. You can ride horses there. And after we are visiting the Victoria Park there at the nuwara eliya.

Then we start a nuwara eliya city tour. Nuwara eliya has its beautifull sights, flower gardens, british style buildings, lush green meadows, valleys, hills etc...

LAGOON RIVER SAFARI (TOUR NO 03)

From your hotel, we continue our journey to Balapitiya. The estuary of the Madu Ganga River is a complex coastal ecosystem of mangroves and islands. A boat trip is a wonderful way of seeing some of the hundreds of species of plants and animals – monkeys eat fruit in the trees, a water monitor lizard glides slowly through the water, and cormorants, crocodile’s egrets and kingfishers wait patiently on the banks, eyeing the water for prey. There are around 64 islands in the river and lagoon. At this voyage, on the river itself, there is a certain pond of millions of fishes which is created by some village guys to enthrall you with fish massage therapy. Sounds great and you really must have to take a massage from fishes there at the pond and we guarantee you will be fully enjoyed the treatment.

You can visit an island with a Buddhist monastery, where the friendly young monks will show you a 150-year-old book made of palm leaves and how they cook on cinnamon wood on an open fire. Galle Fort is UNESCO World Heritage Site, the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in south and Southeast Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and south Asian traditions. The Galle fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers.

We first of all in our journey are going to the Meetiyagoda moonstone mine and gem manufacturing site. probably the best moonstone site of the world. After visiting the site you can see how moonstones dig out from the earth as raw materials and how the labourer’s work hard there and they will explain the entire process going on there with you. If you like you can buy those moonstones as well on site.

Thenafter, we are heading towards the Hikkaduwa tourist area and visit Hikkaduwa tsunami museum and pay tribute to tsunami memorial monument there as well. Then after going towards Galle main city and, visit the Dutch fort, the Galle Museum, an old Dutch church and the British church. the Galle, famous for its lace, is filled with priceless crafts and antique treasures like jewellery, ceramics, and Dutch period furniture and brass work.
